- The referral is generated from the treating clinician (Urologist, oncologist, radiologist, prostate cancer nurse) to the program administrator.
- The program administrator will call the participant to explain the program and determine if the participant is willing to engage in the program. If willing, they determine the most suitable clinic location.
- The program administrator will call the identified exercise physiology clinic and provide contact details.
- The exercise physiology clinic will call the participant to determine a date for the initial assessment and explain any clinic specific details.
- One-on-one initial consultation conducted by AEP, with outcome measures taken.
a) Outcome measures taken during the initial consultation are then submitted to the program via the expo website or emailed to the ExPO team (expo@essa.org.au).
b) A report should then be sent to the referring clinician.
c) The AEP develops an individualised exercise program based on the outcomes of the initial assessment.
- The patient attends 6-weeks (2x per week) of group exercise classes (each approx. 60 min).
- A 30-45minute review session is booked to review outcome measures and determine the next steps for participants exercise journey.
a) Final outcome measures are then submitted to the program via the expo website or emailed directly to the ExPO team (expo@essa.org.au).
b) A report should then be sent to the referring clinician.
